Bertie Bookkeeper diary entry.
Keir Beaver will resign.
He will be gone by the autumn, or maybe sooner.
I’m not sure how I feel.
Fellow beavers feel equally shocked.
It was on the steps of the Whitehall Lodge he announced that his decision.
He said he had "heard the answer" of his party to that question and "accepts that answer with good grace".
It looks likely that Andy Beaver would be appointed the next leader of the Lodge.
However, Keir Beaver has asked the National Executive Committee of the Beaver Party to set out a timetable with nominations opening for the leadership on 9 July and completed by the summer recess.
The resignation follows a Lodge by-election last week which saw Andy Beaver win against that Deformed candidate whose name I can’t quite remember.
This is the seventh prime beaver in ten years, which is not good for our parliamentary system.
